This is the new National Cemetery at Natchez on a bluff high above the river. October 2008 This Pre-Civil War plantation mansion was never completed due to the war. The family lived in the only portion of the house that was completed - the basement. If it had been completed, it would have been the largest octagonal home in the U.S. at over 30,000 square feet. Open daily for tours. July 2008
